Viagra and Viagra alternatives is big business I found an article on the Discovery website that discussed research showing that watermelon can have the same affect as Viagra. Watermelons contain an ingredient called citrulline that can trigger production of a compound that helps relax the body's blood vessels; similar to what happens when a man takes Viagra. Though it does not last as long as Viagra. It did get me thinking about how big of an industry Viagra is. Sex sells and this is selling sex in a pill. Of course any man suffering erectile dysfunction (ED) is going to buy it. With any high demand but expensive product alternatives like Kamagra soon become available. Kamagra UK sells Generic Cialis™ under the name Kamagra plus. The idea is that it is a generic version similar to Viagra that helps with ED, costs less with fewer side effects because of its low dosage. What is cool about this product is that it comes in tablets or oral jelly for those who don’t like pills. It is interesting how much research has gone into resolving ED and impotence and how many options are available now. A man having problems can pop Kamara tablets or jelly and expect to have 24 to 36 hours in which they can comfortably expect to get an erection. Only recently have drug companies started research on female sexual dysfunction (FSD) or Female Sexual Arousal Disorder (FSAO). I guess it was just not a priority. Now there is some research being done using Viagra or Lovegra (a form of sildenafil citrate) on women to resolve these problems. There have even been some studies done using anti depressants that woman on them showed an increase in sexual desire. I guess it will not be long before there is a women’s Viagra available on the market once all the research is done and some thing is proven to help. There are products already available but none of them have been proven in test studies to make a real difference. The truth is that sex is such a large part of who we are that when there is a problem both men and women are willing to try just about anything to help. They will keep trying until they find what works for them. For now there are products that are proven to work for men and research being done to find one that works for women.
